On Saturday November 7, 2009 the Boone County Young Republicans (BCYR) Delegation attended the Federation of Illinois Young Republicans State Convention. At the convention the BCYR along with other Illinois Young Republican Chapters discussed many issues including: Participation of young voters in the election process, the future of Young Republican presence in Illinois, and the need for people in the age group of 18 – 40 to become more educated in government. The discussions stressed the importance of Young Republicans getting involved in their communities and running for any elected position to represent the values of the community.

The Delegation at the convention unanimously passed a resolution that calls upon all republican candidates to unify and support the nominees from the February Republican Primary. The BCYR encourages all eligible citizens to take the time to register to vote and remember to “Voice Your Choice”.

The BCYR would also like to proudly announce that they are honored to have their President, Anthony Dini, elected Regional Vice-Chairman of North Western Illinois on the Federation of Illinois Young Republicans Board of Directors.

In a statement released Saturday November 7th by Anthony Dini, President of the Boone County Young Republicans, he stated, “I am very honored to be able to represent the Boone County Young Republicans at the statewide level, and I feel that this accomplishment will open opportunities for our organization to expand and to better network with other organizations!”, “I believe this was a banner day for all Boone County Republicans, especially the Young Republicans!”
