Membership
Section 1: Types of Membership
The membership year for all classes B.C.Y.R.C. membership shall commence on July 1st and terminate on June 30th of the following year. Members must meet the requirements outlined in Section 2.
A. Active Membership
Active Members shall consist of individuals who have met the requirements membership in B.C.Y.R.C. (Section 2) and who have paid the required membership dues in accordance with the chosen membership type
B. Emeritus Members
Emeritus Membership may be granted to a current or former Active Member of the B.C.Y.R.C. by a majority vote of the leadership team. Emeritus membership status shall be granted by the B.C.Y.R.C. to an individual who has met one of the following two criteria. One, completed Active membership in the B.C.Y.R.C. with good standing upon reaching the age of 40 having served at least five years in the organization or two, is currently serving as an Active member but provided extraordinary service to the organization or BCGOP. Emeritus members shall pay required dues and will not have the right to vote or hold office, unless otherwise qualified.
C. Honorary Membership
Honorary membership shall be granted to an individual by a majority vote of the Leadership Team. Honorary members shall have all membership dues waived and will not have the right to vote or hold office. Honorary membership is reserved for elected officials or other members of the community who have rendered distinguished service to the organization or BCGOP. Individuals who meet the membership requirements in Section 2 are not eligible for honorary membership.
D. Associate Membership
An individual who meets the membership requirements in Section 2 of these by laws, with the exception of being over eighteen years old may request to become an Associate Member. Associate members shall be approved by a majority vote of the Leadership Team.
Section 2: Eligibility for Membership
To be eligible for membership in the Young Republicans of Boone County, an individual must meet the following criteria:
A: Be a resident of Boone Bounty, Illinois or the surrounding area.
B: Age is between 18 and 40
C: Have a personal desire to be affiliated with the Republican Party.
D: Be of good moral character and shall possess recognized qualities of good citizenship.
Section 3: Membership Dues
For membership in the Boone County Young Republicans Club dues shall be required on annual basis, beginning July 1st of each year. Dues shall be $20 for Active membership and $10 for Associate and Emeritus members. If a new member joins the organization after January 1st of the current membership year, the individual shall only be required to pay 50% of the dues for that year, renewing for the full amount on July 1st of that year. Associate and emeritus members are also required to pay dues on a yearly basis to maintain their membership status.
